With an open plan living and dining area, industrial style kitchen and cosy wood burner. There is a utility area with additional fridge/freezer, ice machine, and food preparation area for any BBQs and outside activities.
There are 5 bedrooms, with a combination of double, twin, and bunk beds, each with crisp white bed linen and towels provided. The cabin enjoys private grounds of half an acre - perfect for outside games and BBQs.
The cabin sleeps 14 and has proven particularly popular with multi-generation families and small groups. However, please take a moment to consider the room dynamics - these can be seen on the cabin floorplan. There is a sociable kitchen / dining / living area with a cosy wood burner, and good outdoor space (it is set within half an acre of grounds and bordered by woodland on three sides).
Hopefully, the weather will be good and you can enjoy the outdoors, and evenings by the open fire pit. If you would like more space or privacy, you are welcome to bring tents and camp in the private grounds (please provide your own equipment). All bedrooms (other then the en-suite) use a pair of smart bathroom blocks with private shower cubicles situated within the the main body of the cabin. (This also works well for anyone camping.)

Bedroom details:

  • 1 x double with en-suite and double doors which open onto the grounds
  • 1 x double
  • 1 x twin (this is upstairs. It has a metal staircase as the access, which you can see on the cabin floor plan. It is a cute attic-type room, the only downside of which is that, if someone needs the bathroom in the middle of the night, they need to exit via the metal staircase and into the main cabin).
  • 2 x bunk rooms - each with 4 beds (therefore 8 beds in total, 6 of which are 6’3 ft, 2 of the bunks are slightly shorter). Perfect for children, 2 or 3 adults, or a mix of adults and children

Dogs

The cabin is dog heaven, the grounds are fenced (although not totally dog proof). And there are lovely walks in the woods straight from the front door. Usual dog rules apply: please bag and bin any mess, and do not allow dogs on the furniture / beds / sofas. Whilst I do hope everyone has a great time, please be mindful that the cabin has neighbours 50m away with whom I would like to stay friends.
Noise travels easily in the countryside so I do ask guests to be courteous with noise, especially after 11pm. If you are planning a weekend of loud music and partying the cabin is not suitable, however, if you are planning something more relaxing - enjoying the outdoors - it is perfect.

An absolute perfect retreat for my husband's 60th birthday celebrations with family. Lovely and peaceful for the mums and dads, but ideal for the younger generation with plenty of room to run about and explore the woods. The peacocks were an added bonus. Thank you Catherine, we will definitely be returning!

Bedroom situation a little unorthodox - having to go outside get back into the house to use the toilet from the twin wasn't ideal but overall a great holiday home. Great location with plenty of space for small kids. The open plan kitchen, living and dining was perfect for a group of friends with small children. Would definitely consider staying again.

Can't think of a better place to spend Christmas with the family.

We as a family love staying here. We stayed here in 2017 for New year which was fantastic but in 2018 we stayed for the Christmas week and it was purely magical having the children and grandchildren all together under one roof in such amazing surroundings.

The cabin is just perfect in every way and Cath the owner cannot do enough for you to ensure your stay is enjoyable. You have the option to laze about, go for long walks, bike rides or visit nearby towns and villages.

We look forward to our next stay.

Wonderful for a family get together!!

We were 13 in total. 5 Grandchildren under 5 and we had no tears. They loved the cabin, gardens and surrounding woods.

The accommodation is well thought out and spacious. The open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room was brilliant. We could all enjoy ourselves together even whilst cooking in a very well equipped kitchen!

The bunk rooms were great and exciting for the children and the cabin and surrounds were safe for the little ones.

The table football was a great hit with children and adults as were the games in the lounge. We would certainly return for our next family gat together. Well done Catherine.

Thank you for the Victoria sponge cake!!

Absolutely amazing!!! Surpassed all expectation...

Stayed here for a New Year break, 2 families, 4 adults & 9 children. Plenty of space for everyone, attention to detail fantastic. Lovely walks, eating & playing games round the huge dinning table. We'll definitely be returning.

My family and I stayed at this property for three nights last week and were blown away by the property and it's surroundings. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Cath the owner was fantastic to deal with, and has simply thought of everything. We are already planning a return visit.

The photos of this property and it's surroundings do not do it justice. A lovely cabin finished to an incredibly high standard and very well equipped for a large group. The surroundings are beautiful and the scenery on the drive in is simply outstanding. A great base camp for trips into both the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons over the boarder.
